A river flowed out of Eden to water the garden” Genesis 2,10.

Like the innermost of paradise, the fountain at the warehouse is an empty center and a source of promises never to be kept. Every hour the fountain plays water games complete with a grandiose and emotionally manipulative music that each and every hour leaves the shoppers in awe, mouth open. The camera eye turns this fountain into a white foam, gushing and flowing over the edges of the frame in fast cuts. Every outpour all over the screen now shows the fountain’s shallow and unredeemed promise. Thus the fountain becomes an intentional copy of a sanctuary. Together with the right sound, it sacrilizes the place and turns into a Delphic shrine of the continuous religious spectacle of capitalism.
